It has sure been a year, one that certainly changed a lot of things for me (Liz) personally, and for the business as I try to find a new place for myself in the world, given my new health challenges from long covid and ME/CFS. Still, looking back, I think it does rather invite contemplation of the metaphor of my messy but cheerful rose arbour. The rosebush on the left is growing next to a compost bin, and (while they could both do with a thorough weeding *cough*), it is definitely reaping the benefits from the magic of composting, since it's half as big again as the other one planted at the same time. Here's to a 2024 where all the detritus from the last year (or two, or three) is transmuted into similar goodness and growth. Cheers!

13 years ago today, we picked up the keys for a so 13 years ago today, we picked up the keys for a somewhat tumbledown old farmhouse on ten weedy acres near Geeveston. It's still fairly tumbledown and weedy (this is not a rural lifestyle influencer or home renovation account for a reason), but we still love it here in this beautiful part of the world. And we are still honoured to be the longest serving IT troubleshooting business in the Valley, having started Huon Computer Solutions 11 years ago. We have weathered some highs and lows in that time, but we are still going strong.

But on the social media side, I'm still mostly on bedrest with long covid and realised that I had to cut out any discretionary driving, so there won't be many photos for a while. This shot is from inside the goose shed, which they only use over winter and spring. It will be time to clear it out soon and start putting them away in the evening.

It's been a while since my last post here; I (Liz) still haven't fully recovered from getting covid three months ago, but have been able to spend more time out of the house in the last few weeks. This shot was captured coming down Woodbridge Hill Rd this morning.
So covid has been making its way through the HCS n So covid has been making its way through the HCS nest recently, but things are looking brighter. Paul is clear of infection and back to making house calls, and I am definitely improving after a few weeks of bed rest from fatigue. Photos here may be a bit light on for a while until I'm up to more discretionary excursions (this is an old nest in our wood shed I was reminded of while hanging out laundry this morning) but on the other hand I get more time to scroll through everyone else's.

A few years ago, as a volunteer with GeCo, Paul started running the Orange Balloons project, to invite houses in the main part of Geeveston to decorate for Halloween and put out orange balloons (now orange streamers) on the letter box to invite kids and their families to trick or treat. After a few years where it was postponed due to Covid, it was wonderful to see it running again this year.

It's been an awfully long time between posts on this account, but I can assure you that Huon Computer Solutions itself has not been in hibernation and is still helping locals with their computer problems. I (Liz) am looking forward to re-engaging with this account going forwards, but hopefully putting less creative pressure on myself so I avoid burning out again.
