Tasks – Educate Tutoring

Tasks to be completed for Educate Tutoring — website, database and app, plus software and hardware support.

Next priorities shown in red.

  • WordPress
    • Find out why JetElements etc plugins won’t update
    • Block all comments
    • Reinstate contact form
  • Notes
    • Visibly indicate the presence of notes
    • Add Edit Note option, and find out how that works in Laravel (useful for a bunch of other places)
    • Add Delete Note button in the edit window
    • Fix display of dates on notes
  • Enrolment Process
    • MAJOR PROBLEM: Add “invitation pending” to dashboard.
    • MAJOR PROBLEM: If you miss filling out any single field in the enrolment form, it “helpfully” erases ALL your inputs for you! Frustrating, and very likely to reduce engagement!
    • Merge Website Enquiry and Manual Enquiry and rename to Enquiry
    • Contact form on WP site goes to Enquiry
    • Shorten the initial onboarding email
    • Send secondary reminder to accounts@ at the same time that the initial onboarding mail goes out, listing pertinent details and including a enrolment form link that Natalie can paste into the email she sends them.
    • Invite -> Email
    • Harmonise titles with menu names
    • Investigate process and add error-correction where absent
    • Add note on the enrolment page: Our emails will be sent to you via educatetutoring.com.au and huonmail.com – always check the “from” address on emails you receive.
    • Add Edit option for manual enquiry
    • Add Archive option for only enquiries
    • Add Convert option to make a manual enquiry into a proper enquiry
  • Huon Tables
    • Allow sorting by progress
    • Allow descending/ascending sort toggle
    • Add search functionality
    • Use Huon Tables everywhere that the current list display is currently used
  • Dashboard
    • “View All” buttons don’t do anything
    • Are the Office, IntegraPay and Xero buttons useful? No! Kill them!
    • Button to update student grade level
    • Tutor email button
    • Tighten up design to allow Tasks to appear on a typical screen without scrolling.
    • Debug the counters and find out why they’re slightly inaccurate.
      • Current Enrolment: the number of entries in the Enrolment List with a Status of Active
      • Current Tutors: the number of employees with Role includes Tutor, even if also Disabled!
      • Current Lessons: not a clue!
  • Schedule View
    • Get hold of the actual Excel spreadsheet and write a converter to read it into the database.
    • Schedule | Create Schedule: add the students’ grade level, subject, and a section for additional notes as required.
    • Two options (lesson/tutorial and meeting); add option for ‘availability’
    • Edit
    • Delete
    • Toggle between daily and weekly views
    • Save the entire current schedule to a “gallery” and allow it to be brought back.
  • Tasks
    • Edit tasks.
    • Show only the relevant names in the Assign To box. So, for example, when we select Employee, only employee names appear.
